מַשְׂכִּ֗יל לְאָ֫סָ֥ף לָמָ֣ה אֱ֭לֹהִים זָנַ֣חְתָּ לָנֶ֑צַח יֶעְשַׁ֥ן אַ֝פְּךָ֗ בְּצֹ֣אן מַרְעִיתֶֽךָ׃

Maschil di Asaph. Perché, o Dio, ci hai scacciato per sempre? Perché la tua ira fuma contro lo stormo del tuo pascolo?

If they have acted perversely in the Presence of their King, with a brazen face; [then] by virtue of every fitting attribute, I offer supplication with a loud voice, [and say to] my soul: “Pour out your heart as water”5Lamentations 2:19. in the presence of Him “Who is pure white and ruddy.”6Song of Songs 5:10. “Why, God, have You cast us off forever.”7Psalms 74:1.
