לְדָוִ֗ד מִ֫זְמ֥וֹר חֶֽסֶד־וּמִשְׁפָּ֥ט אָשִׁ֑ירָה לְךָ֖ יְהוָ֣ה אֲזַמֵּֽרָה׃

Un salmo di David. Canterò di misericordia e giustizia; a te, o Eterno, canterò lodi.

Rebbi Ḥuna in the name of Rebbi Aḥa234In the printed edition of the Babli (60b), this homily of R. Aḥa is described as having R. Levi as first author. There are many other names given in manuscripts of the Babli.: (Ps. 101:1) “A song of David. Kindness and justice I shall sing, to You, o Eternal, I shall chant.” David said before the Holy One, praise to Him: If You act in kindness towards me, I shall sing. If You act in judgment towards me, I shall sing. In any case, I shall chant.
