וַיֹּ֨אמֶר הַמֶּ֜לֶךְ אֶל־יוֹאָ֣ב ׀ שַׂר־הַחַ֣יִל אֲשֶׁר־אִתּ֗וֹ שֽׁוּט־נָ֞א בְּכָל־שִׁבְטֵ֤י יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ מִדָּן֙ וְעַד־בְּאֵ֣ר שֶׁ֔בַע וּפִקְד֖וּ אֶת־הָעָ֑ם וְיָ֣דַעְתִּ֔י אֵ֖ת מִסְפַּ֥ר הָעָֽם׃ (ס)
E il re disse a Ioab, comandante dell'esercito che era con lui: «Percorri ora tutte le tribù d'Israele, da Dan fino a Beer-Sheva, e contate il popolo, affinché io conosca il numero del popolo».

And David said to Yoav and to the officers of the people: Go and count Israel from Beersheva until Dan that I may know their number.
