Targum su Esodo 15:23

וַיָּבֹ֣אוּ מָרָ֔תָה וְלֹ֣א יָֽכְל֗וּ לִשְׁתֹּ֥ת מַ֙יִם֙ מִמָּרָ֔ה כִּ֥י מָרִ֖ים הֵ֑ם עַל־כֵּ֥ן קָרָֽא־שְׁמָ֖הּ מָרָֽה׃

Giunsero a Marà, ma non poterono bere dell’acqua di Marà, perchè era amara, perciò (quel luogo) ebbe il nome di Marà.

And they came to Marah, but could not drink the waters of Marah because they were bitter; therefore he called the name of it Marah.
