וְהַפִּשְׁתָּ֥ה וְהַשְּׂעֹרָ֖ה נֻכָּ֑תָה כִּ֤י הַשְּׂעֹרָה֙ אָבִ֔יב וְהַפִּשְׁתָּ֖ה גִּבְעֹֽל׃
Frattanto il lino e l’orzo furono percossi; perocchè l’orzo era quasi maturo, ed il lino era in gambo.

And the flax and the barley were beaten down, because the barley was in the ear, and the flax was making pods.

The flax was (making) pods, for it had cast its flowers.
