Because these three stanzas so closely resemble the blessing of Bircchas Hamazon, some authorities warn against reciting this poem after the meal for one may thus technically fulfill his obligation to recite Birchas Hamazon. According to them, one should recite or sing the song only in mid- meal. upon Your people; our Rock, upon Zion, the dwelling-place of Your Glory, the Abode, home of our splendors. May the son of David, Your servant, come and redeem us the breath of our life— the anointed of Adonoy.
