Ibn Ezra
The discourse of Abraham son of Rabbi Meir Ibn Ezra haSefardi: This is the book of the "man greatly beloved" [Daniel 9:23, Daniel 10:11, Daniel 10:19]. Weighty matters are discussed in it, and prophecies past and future. Everything is presented concisely in riddles, and secrets [revealed] through angels on high, resting upon foundations. But its commentators have not grasped its secret (lit. "stood in its secret"), and each one explained according to his ability (lit. "as his hand reached"). The feet of all of them stumble regarding the end of "a time, times [and half a time]" [cf. Daniel 12:7]. Also, the [identity of the fourth] beast became confused for them, for they identified the fourth [beast/kingdom of Daniel 7] as the third. And now I will begin to explain according to the precision of the language.
