When God established His throne during creation’s six days,
he formed two fawns,7 Adam and Eve.
twins of a gazelle,
placing them in a domicile of delight,
a chamber with figures inlaid.
Nothing was denied them,
no false divinity was in their midst
nor anything of evil.
The intent of their creation
was that they would be a seed of truth,
“holy seed their stock” [Isa. 6:21],
so that they might stroll among stones of fire,8 Following Ezek. 12:13–14, referring to the angels.
among the angelic watches,
while the shekhinah herself would walk in the lower worlds.

By way of the gate between the two walls. A cave went from his house until the Plains of Yericho, and he fled through the cave. The Holy One, Blessed Is He, ordained a deer walking on the roof of the cave. and the Kasdim pursued the deer, and when they reached the cave's entrance in the Plains of Yericho, they saw him and captured him. This is what [Scripture] states, ”And I will spread My net over him, and he shall be caught in My snare.”2Yechezkeil 12:13.

by way of the king’s garden He had a cave from his house to the plains of Jericho, and he went out at night by way of the cave. What did the Holy One, blessed be He, do to fulfill “And I will spread My net over him” (Ezek. 12:13)? He prepared a deer before the Chaldeans walking on the roof the cave outside the city, and they ran after it to seize it, and it ran up to the entrance of the cave, and they saw Zedekiah going out of the cave.
