וַיֵּצֵ֥א גְבוּל־בְּנֵי־דָ֖ן מֵהֶ֑ם וַיַּעֲל֣וּ בְנֵֽי־דָ֠ן וַיִּלָּחֲמ֨וּ עִם־לֶ֜שֶׁם וַיִּלְכְּד֥וּ אוֹתָ֣הּ ׀ וַיַּכּ֧וּ אוֹתָ֣הּ לְפִי־חֶ֗רֶב וַיִּֽרְשׁ֤וּ אוֹתָהּ֙ וַיֵּ֣שְׁבוּ בָ֔הּ וַיִּקְרְא֤וּ לְלֶ֙שֶׁם֙ דָּ֔ן כְּשֵׁ֖ם דָּ֥ן אֲבִיהֶֽם׃
I uszczuploną została dla synów Dana ich dziedzina. Wyruszyli przeto synowie Dana i walczyli z Leszem i zdobyli je i porazili je ostrzem miecza, poczem wzięli je w posiadanie i osiedli w niem i nazwali Leszem Dan, wedle imienia praojca ich Dana.

At this point they took only a small portion, but the lot also fell for them in another place which was a distance from their boundary, and thus the other tribes intervened between them.4Others explain the words, וַיֵצֵא גְבוּל בְנֵי־דָן מֵהֶם to mean, “the boundary of the Bnei Don was too small for them,” and they went out to capture the city of Leshem to make room for their population.
