יָד֙וֹעַ֙ תֵּֽדְע֔וּ כִּי֩ לֹ֨א יוֹסִ֜יף יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֵיכֶ֗ם לְהוֹרִ֛ישׁ אֶת־הַגּוֹיִ֥ם הָאֵ֖לֶּה מִלִּפְנֵיכֶ֑ם וְהָי֨וּ לָכֶ֜ם לְפַ֣ח וּלְמוֹקֵ֗שׁ וּלְשֹׁטֵ֤ט בְּצִדֵּיכֶם֙ וְלִצְנִנִ֣ים בְּעֵינֵיכֶ֔ם עַד־אֲבָדְכֶ֗ם מֵ֠עַל הָאֲדָמָ֤ה הַטּוֹבָה֙ הַזֹּ֔את אֲשֶׁר֙ נָתַ֣ן לָכֶ֔ם יְהוָ֖ה אֱלֹהֵיכֶֽם׃
Uświadomcie sobie dobrze, że wtedy Wiekuisty, Bóg wasz, ludów tych nadal przed wami wypędzać nie będzie; raczej staną się dla was siecią i zagubą i biczem u boków waszych i kolcami w oczach waszych, aż wyginiecie z ziemi tej pięknej, którą oddał wam Wiekuisty, Bóg wasz.

Similarly: “And they will come upon you with camps,”2Yechezkeil 23:24. like a shield (צִנָה) that surrounds a person on three sides, as it is said, “As a shield, you encompass him with favor,”3Tehillim 5:13. תַּעְטְרֶנוּ meaning תְּסוֹבְבֶנוּ, surrounding, similar to “And Shaul and his men surrounded David and his men.”4I Shmuel 23:26. עוֹטְרִים meaning סוֹבְבִים, surrounding.
