All Israel has a place in the world of worthy souls which are cut out from under the throne4Cf. Zohar Ḥadash 24a. of Him who made the earth with His power and understanding, who stretched forth the heavens (Isa.44:24). This is the blessing with which Moses, the man of God,5A reference to Moses Cordovero. blessed the children of Israel (Deut. 33:1) in order to purify their thoughts and to securely establish wisdom, and to be enlightened with the light of the living (Job 33:30). [However,] it was hidden from the eyes of the living until his son the sage,6A reference to Gedaliah Cordovero. may his Rock and Redeemer protect him, came and brought forth the sun from its place to bring light to the earth and those who dwell [there]. It is a treatise which princes have written. The benefactors of the people have said of it: Taste and see its sweetness and its worth. Every man should bear it in his desire and his bosom.

Sefer HaBahir
All agree that none were created on the first day. It should therefore not be said that Michael drew out the heaven at the south, and Gabriel drew it out at the north, while God arranged things in the middle. It is thus written (Isaiah 44:24), "It is I, the LORD, who made everything, Who alone stretched out the heavens And unaided spread out the earth before Me" (before Me = me'iti) I am the One who planted this tree in order that all the world should delight in it. And in it, I spread All. I called it All because all depend upon it, all emanate from it, and all need it. To it they look, for it they wait, and from it, souls fly in joy. Alone was I when I made it. Let no angel rise above it and say, "I was before you." I was also alone when I spread out My earth, in which I planted and rooted this tree. I made them rejoice together, and I rejoiced in them. "Who was with Me?" (with Me = mi iti) To whom have I revealed this mystery?
