I zamoczy kapłan palec swój we krwi, a pokropi krwią ową siedmkroć przed obliczem Wiekuistego, przed zasłoną świątyni.

The reason the blood had to be sprinkled on the altar "seven times before the Lord," as the Torah states in 4,6, is connected to the deeper meaning of the number seven.
