Restore health14See Yirmiyahu 30:17. to a shaken leaf,15This refers to the nation of Yisrael in their exile. They are so weak and frightened that they run away even from the sound of a falling leaf. [See Vayikra 26:36, “and the sound of a driven leaf shall chase them.”]—Mateh Levi console [us who are but] dust and ashes. Cast away our sins and be gracious with Your works; You see that there is no person16Of sufficient piety to plead for us. [therefore] deal charitably with us.
