Comentários de Citação sobre Oséias 2:19

E desposar-te-ei comigo para sempre; sim, desposar-te-ei comigo em justiça, e em juízo, e em amorável benignidade, e em misericórdias;

We will write what the Sifre writes about the haftorah [verse], “let every valley be raised” [40:4]. When the Messiah will come, Israel will say to the Holy One: Lord of the Universe, we see before us the city in which we have committed sins. We are ashamed to look at it. The Holy One says: I will soon destroy it and remove it from the world, as the verse says, “every valley shall be raised” [40:4]. Each valley will be raised. Israel said to the Holy One: The witnesses, who testified about my sins, are the heaven and earth. I see them before me and I ashamed before them, since they mock me. The Holy One says: I will cause them to be destroyed, as it is written, “I am creating a new heaven and a new earth” [Isaiah, 65:17]. Israel said to the Holy One: my name is still known, that I have committed sins. The Holy One responded: I will change your name, as the verse says, “you shall be called by a new name” [Isaiah, 62:2]. Israel said: the name of the foreign gods is still found. The Holy One says: I will cause them to be destroyed, as the verse says, “I will remove the name of the Baalim” [Hosea, 2:19].23Sifrei, Ha’azinu, Piska, 306; Yalkut Shimoni, Isaiah, Remez, 445.
