וְלֹֽא־אָבָ֤ה יְהוָה֙ לְהַשְׁחִ֣ית אֶת־יְהוּדָ֔ה לְמַ֖עַן דָּוִ֣ד עַבְדּ֑וֹ כַּאֲשֶׁ֣ר אָֽמַר־ל֗וֹ לָתֵ֨ת ל֥וֹ נִ֛יר לְבָנָ֖יו כָּל־הַיָּמִֽים׃
Todavia o SENHOR não quis destruir a Judá, por causa de Davi, seu servo, porquanto lhe havia prometido que lhe daria uma lâmpada, a ele e a seus filhos, para sempre.

And the L rd did not want to destroy the house of David, for the sake of the covenant that He had made with David, and, as He had said, to give him and his children kingdom all of the days.
