וַיִּקַּ֣ח מִיָּדָ֗ם וַיָּ֤צַר אֹתוֹ֙ בַּחֶ֔רֶט וַֽיַּעֲשֵׂ֖הוּ עֵ֣גֶל מַסֵּכָ֑ה וַיֹּ֣אמְר֔וּ אֵ֤לֶּה אֱלֹהֶ֙יךָ֙ יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל אֲשֶׁ֥ר הֶעֱל֖וּךָ מֵאֶ֥רֶץ מִצְרָֽיִם׃
Ele os recebeu das mãos deles, moldou-os com um buril e fez deles um bezerro de fundição. E disseram: "Estes são os teus deuses, Yisrael, que te tiraram da terra de Mitzrayim!"

Ibid. Vanity most honoured among the Egyptians. I.e. Apis, which Philo identifies with the Calf of Ex. 32. He is also thinking of Aaron’s words in v. 4. The phrase “vanity of the Egyptians” recurs several times in Philo, generally with allusion to this incident.
