וְלֹֽא־נָתַן֩ יְהוָ֨ה לָכֶ֥ם לֵב֙ לָדַ֔עַת וְעֵינַ֥יִם לִרְא֖וֹת וְאָזְנַ֣יִם לִשְׁמֹ֑עַ עַ֖ד הַיּ֥וֹם הַזֶּֽה׃
Mas o Eterno, יְהֹוָ֨ה, não deu a vocês um coração para entender, nem olhos para ver, nem ouvidos para ouvir até este dia.

Moshe and the kohanim-Levi’im addressed all of Yisroel, to say, ‘‘Take heed and accept, Yisroel! [On] this day you have become a people to Adonoy, your God.

Moshe wrote this Torah and he gave it to the kohanim, descendants of Levi, who carry the ark of Adonoy’s covenant; and to all the elders of Yisroel.
