וַיִּקְרָ֧א יַעֲקֹ֛ב שֵׁ֥ם הַמָּק֖וֹם פְּנִיאֵ֑ל כִּֽי־רָאִ֤יתִי אֱלֹהִים֙ פָּנִ֣ים אֶל־פָּנִ֔ים וַתִּנָּצֵ֖ל נַפְשִֽׁי׃
Pelo que Jacó chamou ao lugar Peniel, dizendo: <span class="x" onmousemove="Show('perush','Significa: “Porquê vi um anjo de Deus...”.');" onmouseout="Hide('perush');">Porque tenho visto Deus face a face</span>, e a minha vida foi preservada.
Targum Jonathan on Genesis
And Jakob called the name of the place Peniel; for he said, I have seen the Angels of the Lord face to face, and my soul is saved.
