וַיִּקְרְא֨וּ אֶל־יְהוָ֜ה וַיֹּאמְר֗וּ אָנָּ֤ה יְהוָה֙ אַל־נָ֣א נֹאבְדָ֗ה בְּנֶ֙פֶשׁ֙ הָאִ֣ישׁ הַזֶּ֔ה וְאַל־תִּתֵּ֥ן עָלֵ֖ינוּ דָּ֣ם נָקִ֑יא כִּֽי־אַתָּ֣ה יְהוָ֔ה כַּאֲשֶׁ֥ר חָפַ֖צְתָּ עָשִֽׂיתָ׃
Por isso clamaram ao SENHOR, e disseram: Nós te rogamos, ó SENHOR, que não pereçamos por causa da vida deste homem, e que não ponhas sobre nós o sangue inocente; porque tu, SENHOR, fizeste como te aprouve.
Targum Jonathan on Jonah
And they prayed before the LORD and said: “Receive our pleas, LORD! Let us not now be lost for the guilt of the soul of this man, and do not put upon us the guilt of righteous blood! For You are the LORD; what is desired before You, You do!”
