וַיַּחְפְּר֧וּ כָל־מִצְרַ֛יִם סְבִיבֹ֥ת הַיְאֹ֖ר מַ֣יִם לִשְׁתּ֑וֹת כִּ֣י לֹ֤א יָֽכְלוּ֙ לִשְׁתֹּ֔ת מִמֵּימֵ֖י הַיְאֹֽר׃
И все египтяне рыли вокруг реки, чтобы пить воду; потому что они не могли пить из воды реки.
Targum Jonathan on Exodus
And the Mizraee digged about the river for water to drink, but could not find them pure; for they were not able to drink of the water from the river.
