Komentaryo sa Deuteronomio 9:1: Rashi, Chizkuni, Ibn Ezra & Or HaChaim

[NATIONS] GREATER AND MIGHTIER THAN THYSELF — Ye are mighty but they are still mightier than you (cf. Rashi on Deuteronomy 11:24).

Chizkuni

אתה עובר היום, “you are crossing this day;” this is not to be understood literally, but means: “in the immediate future.”An alternate interpretation of these words: “you are being considered as if crossing the Jordan already on this day.”

Ibn Ezra

you cross today I.e., during this season (or perhaps the sense of the verse is, “Think of yourself as if you were crossing today”).
