Komentaryo sa Ester 4:5: Tze'enah Ure'enah

Tze'enah Ure'enah

“To know the why and wherefore of this” [4:5]. Esther was a queen and therefore she was ashamed that she had to learn the secret from Mordecai. Therefore, she said to Daniel, go and stand near Mordecai and become aware what he is saying and whether he is talking about the secret. That is why it says in Scripture, “to know what this” [4:5]. That is to say, to become aware what is the secret. “To tell her” is not written, that he should tell her and that is why it is written “what is this and what is this” twice. That is to say, he became aware of what the trouble was and from whom the troubles originated.
