וַיִּ֣שְׁבְּ ׀ יִ֠שְׁמָעֵאל אֶת־כָּל־שְׁאֵרִ֨ית הָעָ֜ם אֲשֶׁ֣ר בַּמִּצְפָּ֗ה אֶת־בְּנ֤וֹת הַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙ וְאֶת־כָּל־הָעָם֙ הַנִּשְׁאָרִ֣ים בַּמִּצְפָּ֔ה אֲשֶׁ֣ר הִפְקִ֗יד נְבֽוּזַרְאֲדָן֙ רַב־טַבָּחִ֔ים אֶת־גְּדַלְיָ֖הוּ בֶּן־אֲחִיקָ֑ם וַיִּשְׁבֵּם֙ יִשְׁמָעֵ֣אל בֶּן־נְתַנְיָ֔ה וַיֵּ֕לֶךְ לַעֲבֹ֖ר אֶל־בְּנֵ֥י עַמּֽוֹן׃ (ס)
Pagkatapos ay binihag ni Ismael ang lahat ng nalabi sa bayan na nasa Mizpa, ang mga anak na babae ng hari, at ang lahat ng taong naiwan sa Mizpa na ipinagkatiwala ni Nebuzaradan, ang pinuno ng mga bantay, kay Gedalias na anak ni Ahikam. Binihag sila ni Ismael na anak ni Netanias, at umalis siya upang tumawid patungo sa mga Ammonita.
