Komentaryo sa Oseas 2:18: Tze'enah Ure'enah & Rashi

Tze'enah Ure'enah

“In the day, says the Lord” [2:18]. When the Messiah will come, says God, you will call Me a proper husband and not like a bride who is not yet a proper wife.9Yalkut Shimoni, Hosea, Remez, 518. However, when the Messiah will come, then Israel will be the proper wife to the Holy One. That is to say, they are compared to the Holy One with love, like a man who loves his wife.

Rashi

Baali An expression of mastership and fear. And our Rabbis (Pesachim 87a, Kethuboth 71b) explained: Like a bride in her father-in-law’s house, and not like a bride in her father’s house.
