כִּ֤י פֹ֣עַל אָ֭דָם יְשַׁלֶּם־ל֑וֹ וּֽכְאֹ֥רַח אִ֝֗ישׁ יַמְצִאֶֽנּוּ׃
Sapagkat ayon sa gawa ng tao ay ginagantihan Niya siya, at ayon sa landas ng bawat isa ay ipinararanas Niya sa kanya ang nararapat.

The truth is, however, that on New Year’s Day two “sides” stand before the Holy One, blessed be He, for the reception of mankind. Those men of whom good deeds and repentance can be recorded are privileged to be inscribed in the roll of that side which is life and which brings forth life, and whoever is on its side is inscribed for life; but those whose works are evil are assigned to the other side, which is death.
