Likkutei Torah
"See, I give before you this day blessing and curse...." Behold, our sages of blessed memory said that every place it says "this day" it is eternal and always means also today. And to understand this here, and in addition the word "before you", because it should have said simply "to you". But the essence is that in each and every one of the people of Israel there is an aspect of interiority (penim) and an aspect of exteriority (see what I wrote in Parshat Miketz, in the second section), and it is written "face to face (panim bepanim) G-d spoke with you" because at the time of receiving the Torah was drawn down to each and every one of the people of Israel the aspect of the Holy One in the aspect of their interiority in every spark of their soul. And that is the essence of the receiving of the first commandment, "I am the Lord your G-d", meaning that the name of G-d shines and reveals itself within you to such an extent that He is named after you to be called "Your G-d".
