וַיֹּ֤אמֶר ׀ לָֽאָדָ֗ם הֵ֤ן יִרְאַ֣ת אֲ֭דֹנָי הִ֣יא חָכְמָ֑ה וְס֖וּר מֵרָ֣ע בִּינָֽה׃ (ס)
At sinabi Niya sa tao: “Narito, ang pagkatakot sa Panginoon, iyon ang karunungan; at ang paglayo sa kasamaan ay pang-unawa.”

The beginning of wisdom is fear of the L rd. [It shall be accounted] goodly wisdom to all who do so [i.e., who imbue themselves with such fear; for then] His praise will endure forever.
