Hindi ba ito ang pag-aayunong pinili Ko: ang kalagan ang mga gapos ng kasamaan, ang kalasin ang mga tali ng pamatok, ang palayain ang mga inaapi, at baliin ninyo ang bawat pamatok?

Rebbi Eleazar said: Is that a fast day which I would prefer, that is a day where a person deprives himself? This is not a day to my liking. What is a day to my liking? Is not this a day I would prefer, opening chains of evil, unbinding fetters of the yoke. Is it not breaking your bread for the hungry, and bring to the house the poor persecuted ones. What is written after this? Then you will call and the Eternal will answer,47Is. 58:5,7,9.
