Literatura ng Ikalawang Templo sa Exodo 14:30: On the Confusion & On Dreams

On the Confusion of Tongues

[36] For Israel, it says, saw the Egyptians dead on the edge of the sea (Ex. 14:30)—not elsewhere. And when he says “dead” he does not mean the death which is the separation of soul and body, but the destruction of unholy doctrines and of the words which their mouth and tongue and the other vocal organs gave them to use.

On Dreams

[280] Therefore we read: “Israel saw the Egyptians dead along the lip of the sea” (Ex. 14:30). Mighty is that champion arm by whose constraining force mouth and lips and speech became the scene of the fall of those who had whetted them as instruments against the truth, that so their own weapons, not those of strangers, should bring death to those who had taken them against others.
