בִּיבֹ֤שׁ קְצִירָהּ֙ תִּשָּׁבַ֔רְנָה נָשִׁ֕ים בָּא֖וֹת מְאִיר֣וֹת אוֹתָ֑הּ כִּ֣י לֹ֤א עַם־בִּינוֹת֙ ה֔וּא עַל־כֵּן֙ לֹֽא־יְרַחֲמֶ֣נּוּ עֹשֵׂ֔הוּ וְיֹצְר֖וֹ לֹ֥א יְחֻנֶּֽנּוּ׃ (ס)
Kapag natuyo ang mga sanga nito, mababali ang mga iyon; darating ang mga babae at susunugin ito. Sapagkat hindi siya isang bayang may pang-unawa; kaya hindi siya kaaawaan ng gumawa sa kanya, at hindi siya pagpapakitaan ng biyaya ng humubog sa kanya.

R. Ammi also said : Great is knowledge which is placed between two references to the Divine Name ; as it is said, "For a God of knowledge is the Lord" (I Sam. ii. 3). It is forbidden to have mercy upon one who does not possess knowledge ; as it is said, "For it is a people of no understanding, therefore He that made them will not have compassion upon them" (Is. xxvii. 11).
