כִּ֣י תִשָּׂ֞א אֶת־רֹ֥אשׁ בְּנֵֽי־יִשְׂרָאֵ֘ל לִפְקֻדֵיהֶם֒ וְנָ֨תְנ֜וּ אִ֣ישׁ כֹּ֧פֶר נַפְשׁ֛וֹ לַיהוָ֖ה בִּפְקֹ֣ד אֹתָ֑ם וְלֹא־יִהְיֶ֥ה בָהֶ֛ם נֶ֖גֶף בִּפְקֹ֥ד אֹתָֽם׃
Kapag kukunin mo ang kabuuang bilang ng mga anak ni Israel ayon sa kanilang pagkakabilang, magbibigay ang bawat isa sa Walang-Hanggan ng pantubos para sa kanyang buhay kapag binilang mo sila, upang walang salot na tumama sa kanila kapag binilang mo sila.

Adonoy's anger was again kindled against Yisroel. he enticed Dovid against saying, "Go, count Yisroel and Yehudah."

The king said to Yoav the general of the army that was with him, "Go to all the tribes of Yisroel from Don until Be'er Shevah and number the people [in order] that I should be able to know, the count of the people."

Yoav said to the king, "Adonoy your God should add to the people one hundred times their [current] number, and may my master the king's eyes see it. [But] my master the king, why do you want such a thing?"
