וַיֹּ֣אמֶר מֹשֶׁ֗ה לֹ֤א נָכוֹן֙ לַעֲשׂ֣וֹת כֵּ֔ן כִּ֚י תּוֹעֲבַ֣ת מִצְרַ֔יִם נִזְבַּ֖ח לַיהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֵ֑ינוּ הֵ֣ן נִזְבַּ֞ח אֶת־תּוֹעֲבַ֥ת מִצְרַ֛יִם לְעֵינֵיהֶ֖ם וְלֹ֥א יִסְקְלֻֽנוּ׃
At sinabi ni Moises: “Hindi nararapat na gawin iyon, sapagkat ang kasuklam-suklam sa mga Egipcio ang aming ihahandog sa Walang-Hanggan na aming Diyos. Kung ihahandog namin ang kasuklam-suklam sa mga Egipcio sa harap ng kanilang mga mata, hindi ba nila kami babatuhin?
Targum Jonathan
But Mosheh said, It will not be right to do so; because we shall take sheep, which are the abomination of the Mizraee, and offer them before the Lord our God. Behold if we offer the abomination of the Mizraee before them, they would stone us with stones as an act of justice.
