וַתַּ֤הַר לֵאָה֙ וַתֵּ֣לֶד בֵּ֔ן וַתִּקְרָ֥א שְׁמ֖וֹ רְאוּבֵ֑ן כִּ֣י אָֽמְרָ֗ה כִּֽי־רָאָ֤ה יְהוָה֙ בְּעָנְיִ֔י כִּ֥י עַתָּ֖ה יֶאֱהָבַ֥נִי אִישִֽׁי׃
At naglihi si Lea at nagsilang ng isang anak na lalaki, at tinawag niya ang kanyang pangalan na Ruben, sapagkat sinabi niya, “Nakita ng Walang-Hanggan ang aking kapighatian; ngayon ay iibigin na ako ng aking asawa.”
Targum Jonathan
And Leah conceived and bare a son, and called his name Reuben: for she said, My affliction was manifest before the Lord, therefore now will my husband love me; for my affliction hath been manifested before the Lord as will be the affliction of my children before the Lord when they shall be enslaved in the land of the Mizraee.
