וְהָיָ֗ה בְּכָל־יַחֵם֮ הַצֹּ֣אן הַמְקֻשָּׁרוֹת֒ וְשָׂ֨ם יַעֲקֹ֧ב אֶת־הַמַּקְל֛וֹת לְעֵינֵ֥י הַצֹּ֖אן בָּרֳהָטִ֑ים לְיַחְמֵ֖נָּה בַּמַּקְלֽוֹת׃
At nangyari, sa tuwing nag-iinit ang mga maagang nag-aanak sa kawan, inilalagay ni Jacob ang mga patpat sa mga daluyan ng tubig, sa harap ng mga mata ng kawan, upang mag-init sila sa harap ng mga patpat.
Targum Jonathan
And it was that whenever the early (prime) sheep conceived, Jakob set the rods in the canals before the eyes of the sheep, that they might conceive before the rods.
