“I am He who comforts you, etc.” [51:12]. The Holy One said: I, God, am your comforter. You are very righteous with much merit. Why do you fear a person who can die any day? He is like a grass that withers very quickly.

I am he that comforteth you. The pronouns I and you, refer to the prophet and the people respectively.
