וַתִּשְׁכַּ֞ח יְהוָ֣ה עֹשֶׂ֗ךָ נוֹטֶ֣ה שָׁמַיִם֮ וְיֹסֵ֣ד אָרֶץ֒ וַתְּפַחֵ֨ד תָּמִ֜יד כָּל־הַיּ֗וֹם מִפְּנֵי֙ חֲמַ֣ת הַמֵּצִ֔יק כַּאֲשֶׁ֥ר כּוֹנֵ֖ן לְהַשְׁחִ֑ית וְאַיֵּ֖ה חֲמַ֥ת הַמֵּצִֽיק׃
און האָסט פֿאַרגעסן אָן גאָט דײַן באַשעפֿער, װאָס האָט אױסגעשפּרײט די הימלען, און געגרונטפֿעסט די ערד; און האָסט געאַנגסט נאָכאַנאַנד אַ גאַנצן טאָגפֿאַרן גרימצאָרן פֿון דעם דריקער, װי ער האָט זיך אָנגעברײט אומצוברענגען; אָבער װוּ איז דער גרימצאָרן פֿון דעם דריקער?

“You have forgotten the Lord, your Maker, etc.” [51:13]. The Holy One said: why should you fear the nations? You did not rely on the Holy One who can help you. He created you and also created heaven and earth. Why should you fear the oppressors? Whenever there is the wrath of the nations, tomorrow it is no longer there.

And forgottest. It is as if thou didst forget. The prophet, in his prophetical spirit, speaks thus to his own heart. The Lord thy Maker, who is omnipotent; for heaven and earth are in His power.
