הַהֵימִ֥יר גּוֹי֙ אֱלֹהִ֔ים וְהֵ֖מָּה לֹ֣א אֱלֹהִ֑ים וְעַמִּ֛י הֵמִ֥יר כְּבוֹד֖וֹ בְּל֥וֹא יוֹעִֽיל׃
האָט דען אַ פֿאָלק פֿאַרביטן זײַנע געטער? װאָס זײ זײַנען קײן געטער ניט; און מײַן פֿאָלק האָט פֿאַרביטן זײַן כּבוד אױף װאָס נוצט ניט.

“Has any nation changed its gods and they are” [2:11]. The Holy One said: where is there a nation that exchanges its foreign gods, even though they are not gods to that nation? That is to say, they know well that it is no god; it does not help them when they call on it. However, Israel had a true God and exchanged Me for a foreign god that is nothing.
