וְעָשִׂ֤יתָ לּוֹ֙ מִכְבָּ֔ר מַעֲשֵׂ֖ה רֶ֣שֶׁת נְחֹ֑שֶׁת וְעָשִׂ֣יתָ עַל־הָרֶ֗שֶׁת אַרְבַּע֙ טַבְּעֹ֣ת נְחֹ֔שֶׁת עַ֖ל אַרְבַּ֥ע קְצוֹתָֽיו׃
און זאָלסט מאַכן צו אים אַ קופּערנע זיףּ פֿון נעצאַרבעט, און זאָלסט מאַכן אױף דער נעץ פֿיר קופּערנע רינגען אױף זײַנע פֿיר עקן.
Mishneh Torah, The Chosen Temple
A red stripe girdled the Altar in the middle (about six hand-breadths below the ledge) to separate between the blood of the Higher [half] and the blood of the Lower [half]. And its height from the ground comes to nine cubits less one hand-breadth.
