וְהַלִּשְׁכָּ֗ה אֲשֶׁ֤ר פָּנֶ֙יהָ֙ דֶּ֣רֶךְ הַצָּפ֔וֹן לַכֹּ֣הֲנִ֔ים שֹׁמְרֵ֖י מִשְׁמֶ֣רֶת הַמִּזְבֵּ֑חַ הֵ֣מָּה בְנֵֽי־צָד֗וֹק הַקְּרֵבִ֧ים מִבְּנֵֽי־לֵוִ֛י אֶל־יְהוָ֖ה לְשָׁרְתֽוֹ׃
און די קאַמער װאָס איר פֿאָדערזײַט איז צו צפֿון, איז פֿאַר די כּהנים, װאָס היטן די היטונג פֿון מזבח; דאָס זײַנען די קינדער פֿון צָדוק, די פֿון די קינדער פֿון לֵוי װאָס גענענען צו גאָט, אים צו דינען.
The Third Beit HaMikdash
There was a chamber … “on the flank of the eastern gate”, its entrance “facing northward”.1Yechezkel 40:44. They were “for the kohanim, the keepers of the watch of the altar: they are the descendants of Tzadok, the ones [chosen] from the descendants of Levi to draw close to God and serve Him.”2Ibid.:46.
