Wasteful seminal emissions are worse than spilling the blood of others,657Since in this case he is spilling the blood of his own offspring (Zohar I 219b). for in doing so, he is spilling not only their blood, but the blood of all their future generations without end.658Talmud Bavli, Niddah 13a; Mishneh Torah, Hilchot Issurei Biyah 21:18; Shulachan Aruch, Even HaEzer, Siman 23 In Zohar to Parshat Vayechi it states,659Zohar I 219b ibid. “One is able to repent for all transgressions except for this.” Moreover, when it comes to all other transgressions, a minor is exempt from punishment, except for this. For, Er and Onan were minors who were only about seven years old,660Seder HaDorot, Year 2217 and yet they died at the hands of Heaven on account of this sin,661Genesis 38:7-10; Yevamot 34b; Midrash Bereishit Rabba 85:5; Tractate Kallah 4:6 even though they were not yet commanded regarding the mitzvot. The same is likewise true of the generation of the flood, about which it states,662Genesis 6:12 – The words “For all flesh destroyed its ways upon the earth” refers to their wasteful seminal emissions (Zohar I 62a). “For all flesh destroyed its ways upon the earth.” Because of this sin, all creatures were blotted out, everything from man to beast, birds of the sky and insects,663Genesis 7:23 and even the first three handsbreadths of the earth were destroyed664Midrash Bereishit Rabba 31:7 – something that had not occurred from the beginning of creation until that point, and which shall not occur again.665Genesis 8:21 Moreover, this took place even though they were commanded only a mere seven mitzvot.666Talmud Bavli, Sanhedrin 56a; Mishneh Torah, Hilchot Melachim u’Milchamot 8:11
Sha'ar HaPesukim
You should know that Zelophehad is the root of the judgments [gevurot]. And that is why he has the letters tzadi, lamed peh, chet, dalet [which spells tzel pachad, the shadow of fear]. And his five daughters are the five judgments. And these are the same five judgments that remained in the Foundation [Yesod] of the Small Face [Zeir Anpin], and do not go to Kinghood [Malkhut]. Rather, other new judgments come, and are given to Kinghood, as is known. And that is why our teacher Moses, peace be upon him, was in doubt whether they had a portion and inheritance in the land, which is Kinghood. And the Holy One, blessed be He, answered him that since they shine upon Kinghood, they are fitting to take a portion in the land. So behold, of these five judgments, three are sweetened by the kindnesses [chassadim], whereas the other two are not sweetened, as is known. And behold, the three that are sweetened are Choglah, Milkhah, and Tirtzah. And the understanding of Choglah is chag lah [she has a festival], since she is sweet. Milkah's name [related to queen] is also an indication about her. Tirtzah, as well, is an expression of wanting [ratzon] and kindness. And the two that are not sweetened are Machlah and Noa. Machlah is mach lah, which is derived from the usage, And He blotted out [Vayimach] all existence (Genesis 7:23). And Noa is derived from the usage, The earth shall reel [noa] to and fro (Isaiah 24:20).

It also says in the Zohar (Noach verse 207): 207. So it is clear by now that the sins of the wicked caused the Shechinah to depart. One of those sins is the sin of man corrupting his way upon the earth, as we have previously explained. Such a person shall not see the face of the Shechinah, nor shall he enter the palace OF THE KING. This is why it is written that “they were destroyed from the earth,” destroyed completely. 208. Come and behold: When the time comes and the Holy One, blessed be He, resurrects the dead, He shall make all the dead in countries other than THE LAND OF YISRAEL rise and stand in their bodies, for one bone is left from the human body as it lies underground, and it is like a lump of dough from which the Holy One, blessed be He, shall rebuild the whole body. 209. But He shall not restore their souls to them until they are in the land of Yisrael, as it is stated: “Behold I will open your graves and cause you to come up out of your graves, My people, and I will bring you into the land of Yisrael.” They will roll through underground passages AND COME TO THE LAND OF YISRAEL. Next, it is written: “I will put My spirit in you and you shall live” (Yechezkel 37:12-14). Only in the land of Yisrael will they receive their souls, except those who have defiled themselves and the land, NAMELY THE GENERATION OF THE FLOOD. As for them, it has been declared, “They were destroyed from the earth.” From the earth MEANS PRECISELY THAT THEY SHALL NOT RISE DURING THE RESURRECTION OF THE DEAD AND SHALL NOT COME TO THE LAND OF YISRAEL TO RECEIVE THEIR SOULS. Although some of the ancient sages differ in their opinion, CLAIMING THAT THEY SHALL BE RESURRECTED, WHAT HAS BEEN SAID STANDS. FOR the term “destroyed” is similar to the expression: “Let them be blotted out of the book of the living” (Tehilim 69:28), MEANING THAT THEY SHALL NEVER BE RESURRECTED. 210. Rabbi Shimon said to him: Undoubtedly, THE GENERATION OF THE FLOOD will have no share in the World to Come, as it is written: “They were destroyed from the earth.” Analogously, it is written: “they shall inherit the land (earth) forever” (Yeshayah 60:21). AND WE LEARN THAT THE WORD “EARTH” HAS THE SAME MEANING IN BOTH SENTENCES. Nevertheless, they shall rise and stand for Judgment. As they are described: “and many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life and some to shame and everlasting contempt” (Daniel 12:2). Even though opinions differ on this matter, everything is as the friends have explained.
