אֵיכָה֩ יָעִ֨יב בְּאַפּ֤וֹ ׀ אֲדֹנָי֙ אֶת־בַּת־צִיּ֔וֹן הִשְׁלִ֤יךְ מִשָּׁמַ֙יִם֙ אֶ֔רֶץ תִּפְאֶ֖רֶת יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וְלֹא־זָכַ֥ר הֲדֹם־רַגְלָ֖יו בְּי֥וֹם אַפּֽוֹ׃ (ס)
װי האָט גאָט אין זײַן כּעס פֿאַרװאָלקנט די טאָכטער צִיוֹן! אַראָפּגעװאָרפֿן פֿון הימל צו דער ערד די שײנקײט פֿון ישׂראל, און ניט געדאַכט אָן זײַן פֿוסבענקל אין טאָג פֿון זײַן כּעס!
Chagigah
Rebbi took the Book of Lamentations and was reading it. When he came upon this verse, (Lamentations 2:1) "He has cast down from heaven to earth [the splendor of Israel; he has not remembered his footstool in the day of his anger]." [The book] fell from his hands. He said, From the highest roof to the deepest pit!
