תּלמוד אויף דברים 31:17

וְחָרָ֣ה אַפִּ֣י ב֣וֹ בַיּוֹם־הַ֠הוּא וַעֲזַבְתִּ֞ים וְהִסְתַּרְתִּ֨י פָנַ֤י מֵהֶם֙ וְהָיָ֣ה לֶֽאֱכֹ֔ל וּמְצָאֻ֛הוּ רָע֥וֹת רַבּ֖וֹת וְצָר֑וֹת וְאָמַר֙ בַּיּ֣וֹם הַה֔וּא הֲלֹ֗א עַ֣ל כִּֽי־אֵ֤ין אֱלֹהַי֙ בְּקִרְבִּ֔י מְצָא֖וּנִי הָרָע֥וֹת הָאֵֽלֶּה׃

און מײַן צאָרן װעט גרימען אױף אים אין יענעם טאָג, און איך װעל זײ פֿאַרלאָזן, און פֿאַרבאָרגן מײַן פּנים פֿון זײ, און ער װעט זײַן צום פֿאַרצערן, און אים װעלן טרעפֿן בײזן פֿיל און צרות, און ער װעט זאָגן אין יענעם טאָג: פֿאַר װאָר, װײַל מײַן גאָט איז ניט צװישן מיר, האָבן מיך געטראָפֿן די דאָזיקע בײזן.

Chagigah

But Samuel said, This [verse above of good actions that are judged harshly refers to] someone who bestows money upon the poor man in the hour of his extreme distress [and not before that point]. Rava said, This is the proverb, Money [to buy] produce, it is not there. To [buy] produce [in a time of distress] that is hung, it is there. (Deuteronomy 31:17) "Then My anger shall be kindled against them in that day, and I will forsake them, and I will hide My face from them." R. Bardala bar Tavyumi said in the name of Rav,
