תּלמוד אויף ישעיהו 1:10

Rabin b. Rab Adda said in the name of R. Isaac : If one is accustomed to attend the Synagogue regularly and absents himself one day, the Holy One, blessed be He, makes inquiry about him ; as it is said, "Who is among you that feareth the Lord, that obeyeth the voice of His servant, that walketh in darkness and hath no light?" (Is. 1. 10).

Rab Joseph said : What is the Scriptural authority for this ? As it is said, "We should have been as Sodom" (Is. i. 9) ; and what did the prophet reply to them? "Hear the word of the Lord, ye rulers of Sodom" (ibid. v. 10).

Rab Joseph said: What is the Scriptural authority? For it is written, "We should have been as Sodom, we should have been like unto Gomorrah" (Is, i. 9). What did the prophet answer them? "Hear the word of the Lord, ye rulers of Sodom" (ibid. v. 10).
