יָדוֹ֙ פָּ֣רַשׂ צָ֔ר עַ֖ל כָּל־מַחֲמַדֶּ֑יהָ כִּֽי־רָאֲתָ֤ה גוֹיִם֙ בָּ֣אוּ מִקְדָּשָׁ֔הּ אֲשֶׁ֣ר צִוִּ֔יתָה לֹא־יָבֹ֥אוּ בַקָּהָ֖ל לָֽךְ׃ (ס)
דער פֿײַנט האָט אױסגעשפּרייט זײַן האַנט אױף אַלע אירע גלוסטיקײטן; װאָרום זי האָט געזען װי די פֿעלקער זײַנען געקומען אין איר הײליקטום, די װאָס דו האָסט באַפֿױלן, זײ זאָלן אין דײַן עדה ניט קומען.
Lamentations
The ways of Zion mourn, without the festival-pilgrims. All of her gates are desolate; her priests sigh; her virgins are afflicted; and she is bitter unto herself.
