וּמַכֵּ֥ה נֶֽפֶשׁ־בְּהֵמָ֖ה יְשַׁלְּמֶ֑נָּה נֶ֖פֶשׁ תַּ֥חַת נָֽפֶשׁ׃
און דער װאָס דערשלאָגט אַ בהמה צום טױט, זאָל זי אָפּצאָלן; אַ לעבן פֿאַר אַ לעבן.
Exodus
The owner of the pit must pay. He must compensate its owner with money, and the dead [animal] remains his [its original owner’s] possesion.
