וַיַּ֣עַשׂ אֱלֹהִים֮ אֶת־הָרָקִיעַ֒ וַיַּבְדֵּ֗ל בֵּ֤ין הַמַּ֙יִם֙ אֲשֶׁר֙ מִתַּ֣חַת לָרָקִ֔יעַ וּבֵ֣ין הַמַּ֔יִם אֲשֶׁ֖ר מֵעַ֣ל לָרָקִ֑יעַ וַֽיְהִי־כֵֽן׃

און גאָט האָט געמאַכט דעם אױסשפּרײט, און האָט פֿאַנאַנדערגעשײדט צװישן די װאַסערן װאָס אונטער דעם אױסשפּרײט און צװישן די װאַסערן װאָס איבער דעם אױסשפּרײט. און עס איז אַזױ געשען.

And God made the expanse, and separated the water below the expanse from the water above the expanse; and it was so.

And the Lord made the expanse, upbearing it with three fingers, between the confines of the heavens and the waters of the ocean, and separated between the waters which were below the expanse, and the waters which were above, in the collection (or covering) of the expanse; and it was so.
