וַיֹּ֗אמֶר לֹ֤א יַעֲקֹב֙ יֵאָמֵ֥ר עוֹד֙ שִׁמְךָ֔ כִּ֖י אִם־יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל כִּֽי־שָׂרִ֧יתָ עִם־אֱלֹהִ֛ים וְעִם־אֲנָשִׁ֖ים וַתּוּכָֽל׃
האָט ער געזאָגט: ניט מער זאָל יעקב גערופֿן װערן דײַן נאָמען, נײַערט יִשׂרָאֵל, װאָרום האָסט געשטריטן מיט גאָט און מיט מענטשן, און ביסט בײַגעקומען.
Targum Jonathan
And he said, Thy name shall be no more called Jakob but Israel, because thou art magnified with the angels of the Lord and with the mighty, and thou hast prevailed with them.
