וַיָּבֹ֙אוּ֙ בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל לִשְׁבֹּ֖ר בְּת֣וֹךְ הַבָּאִ֑ים כִּֽי־הָיָ֥ה הָרָעָ֖ב בְּאֶ֥רֶץ כְּנָֽעַן׃
זײַנען געקומען די זין פֿון ישׂראלן אײַנקױפֿן, צװישן די װאָס זײַנען געקומען, װאָרום דער הונגער איז געװען אין לאַנד כּנַעַן.
Targum Jonathan
And the sons of Israel went every one by one door, lest the evil eye should have sway over them, as they went together to buy among the Kenaanites who went also to buy; because the famine was in the land of Kenaan.
