יָצְא֞וּ אֲנָשִׁ֤ים בְּנֵֽי־בְלִיַּ֙עַל֙ מִקִּרְבֶּ֔ךָ וַיַּדִּ֛יחוּ אֶת־יֹשְׁבֵ֥י עִירָ֖ם לֵאמֹ֑ר נֵלְכָ֗ה וְנַעַבְדָ֛ה אֱלֹהִ֥ים אֲחֵרִ֖ים אֲשֶׁ֥ר לֹא־יְדַעְתֶּֽם׃
עס זײַנען אַרױסגעטרעטן נידערטרעכטיקע לײַט פֿון צװישן דיר, און האָבן אַראָפּגעפֿירט די באַװוינער פֿון זײער שטאָט, אַזױ צו זאָגן: לאָמיר גײן און דינען פֿרעמדע געטער – װאָס איר קענט ניט;

that (certain) men of pride are drawing back from the doctrine of the Lord your God, or that even sages of your rabbins have gone forth and led away the inhabitants of their city, saying, Let us go and worship the gods of the nations which you have not known:
