וְנָשַׁל֩ יְהוָ֨ה אֱלֹהֶ֜יךָ אֶת־הַגּוֹיִ֥ם הָאֵ֛ל מִפָּנֶ֖יךָ מְעַ֣ט מְעָ֑ט לֹ֤א תוּכַל֙ כַּלֹּתָ֣ם מַהֵ֔ר פֶּן־תִּרְבֶּ֥ה עָלֶ֖יךָ חַיַּ֥ת הַשָּׂדֶֽה׃
און ה׳ דײַן גאָט װעט אַרױסװאַרפֿן די דאָזיקע פֿעלקער פֿון פֿאַר דיר ביסלעך-ביסלעכװײַז; טאָרסט זײ ניט פֿאַרטיליקן אױף גיך, כּדי די חיה פֿון פֿעלד זאָל זיך ניט מערן אױף דיר.
Targum Jonathan
But the Lord your God will make these nations depart from before thee by little and little. You may not destroy them at once, lest the beasts of the field multiply against you, when they have come to devour their carcases.
